AFCAT is the Indian Air Force's officer selection exam, conducted twice a year. It is the gateway to all three IAF officer branches — Flying, Technical, and Non-Technical.
AFCAT selects officers for Flying Branch (pilots, navigators), Ground Duty Technical (aeronautical engineering), and Ground Duty Non-Technical (administration, logistics, accounts, education, meteorology, ATC). One exam, three distinct career paths.
Any graduate can apply for Non-Technical. Engineering graduates apply for Technical Branch. Flying Branch requires 60% in 10+2 with Physics and Maths plus a degree. Age: 20–24 years for Flying, 20–26 for Ground Duty. Both men and women are eligible.
AFCAT-I: Forms available December, exam in February. AFCAT-II: Forms available June, exam in August. Conducted online. Shortlisted candidates appear for AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) — the Air Force equivalent of SSB.
NCC 'C' Certificate holders with Air Wing qualification can apply for Flying Branch through NCC Special Entry — without appearing in the AFCAT written exam. Direct shortlisting for AFSB. The Cavalier prepares candidates for this entry as well.
Each AFCAT entry leads to a different IAF career. The Cavalier prepares for all three.
Online exam, 2 hours, 100 questions. All questions carry 3 marks. Negative marking of 1 mark per wrong answer.
25 years. 500+ officers. One institution that actually produces results.
Every topic in our AFCAT curriculum is weighted by its frequency across past 10 AFCAT papers. English, Numerical, Reasoning, Military Aptitude, and GK — all mapped to actual question patterns, not generic coaching syllabi.
Regular mock tests in the exact AFCAT format — 100 questions, 2 hours, online interface. Detailed solutions, accuracy tracking, and time management analysis after every test. No surprises on exam day.
AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) is the SSB for Air Force. The Cavalier's SSB faculty — a retired IO, GTO, and Psychologist from actual SSBs — prepares AFCAT candidates for AFSB. Written and AFSB under one roof.
AFCAT GK has a heavy defence and current affairs component. Weekly current affairs sessions specifically tailored to AFCAT question patterns — not generic news, but defence, science, and geopolitics that AFCAT actually tests.
Reasoning and Military Aptitude is 30% of AFCAT but most coaching institutes barely cover it. The Cavalier dedicates specific sessions to spatial reasoning, mechanical aptitude, and military knowledge — the section that separates scores.
Outstation students can stay in The Cavalier's hostel/PG facility in Rajouri Garden. ₹400–450 per day including three meals and tea. No need to arrange separate accommodation — focus entirely on preparation.

The Cavalier covers all four AFCAT sections with PYQ-mapped depth and weekly current affairs updates.
