The 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES) is one of India's most sought-after officer entries — no UPSC written exam, direct SSB shortlist on JEE Mains rank. The Cavalier's 2-week intensive SSB programme is built to get you through all 5 days of the SSB.
TES is a direct officer entry for Class 12 PCM students who have appeared in JEE (Mains). There is no separate UPSC written exam — candidates are shortlisted on JEE rank and Class 12 marks, then called for an SSB Interview. It is one of the fastest routes to a Permanent Commission in the Indian Armed Forces straight after Class 12.
The SSB is a comprehensive personality assessment spread over 5 days. The Cavalier prepares you for every single stage — nothing is left to chance.
Three retired officers who served at actual Services Selection Boards — not coaches who cleared SSB once, but officers who ran the assessments for years.
Over 500 officers have been coached at The Cavalier. Our SSB faculty has trained candidates across NDA, CDS, TES, AFCAT and CAPF SSBs for 25+ years.
Our SSB trainers are ex-defence officers and experienced SSB mentors — not content creators. They know exactly what assessors look for and teach you the same.
We cover every stage — Day 1 Screening (OIR + PPDT), Day 2 Psychology, Days 3–4 GTO, Day 4–5 PI, and the Conference — with mock sessions at each stage.
TAT, WAT, SRT and Self Description are where most candidates struggle. We conduct intensive timed practice sessions and analyse your responses for OLQ (Officer Like Qualities).
Group tasks — PGT, HGT, Command Task, FGT — are practised physically at our GTO ground, not just theoretically. You go into the SSB having done it, not just read about it.
Personal Interview is a full 30–45 minute deep-dive into your personality, background and current awareness. We run rigorous mock PIs with written feedback after each session.
25+ years of defence exam coaching, 500+ officers commissioned. Our TES SSB students have secured recommendations in Army and Navy SSBs across India.
One comprehensive 2-week course — Psychology, GTO, Group Discussion, PI, and SSB mock tests. Everything you need to clear your SSB.
Every component of the SSB is covered with theory, timed practice and mock sessions.
Everything you need to know before joining The Cavalier for TES SSB coaching.
The 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES) is a direct officer entry for students who have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Maths (PCM) and appeared in JEE (Mains). Army TES requires a minimum 60% aggregate in PCM; Navy TES requires 70%+. There is no separate written exam — candidates are shortlisted on JEE rank and Class 12 marks and directly called for an SSB Interview. It leads to a Permanent Commission in the Indian Army or Indian Navy.
No — TES has no separate UPSC written exam. Shortlisting is based on your JEE Mains score and Class 12 PCM aggregate. Once shortlisted, you directly appear for a 5-day SSB Interview at a Service Selection Board. This makes TES one of the most direct routes to a Permanent Commission straight after Class 12.
NDA requires passing a UPSC written exam (Maths + GAT) followed by an SSB. TES skips the UPSC written exam entirely — shortlisting is based on JEE Mains rank. NDA trains you at Khadakwasla for 3 years for a degree + commission. TES trains you at a Cadet Training Wing and IMA (Army) or INA (Navy) for 4–5 years for a B.Tech + commission. Both lead to Permanent Commission.
Our 2-week intensive course covers the entire 5-day SSB: Day 1 Screening (OIR + PPDT), Day 2 Psychology Tests (TAT, WAT, SRT, SD), Days 3–4 GTO tasks (PGT, HGT, Command Task, FGT, Lecturette, GD, GPE), and Day 4–5 Personal Interview. We run mock sessions at each stage with written feedback. Study material is included. The course fee is ₹21,000 inclusive of GST.
Ideally, join SSB coaching as soon as you receive your TES call letter — you typically get 4–6 weeks before your reporting date. However, if you want to be fully prepared, joining even before shortlisting (while waiting for results) is a good idea. The SSB tests deeply ingrained personality qualities and OLQs — last-minute cramming does not work. Early preparation is always better.
Each TES notification is a separate attempt. Since TES is notified twice a year (approximately), candidates can appear multiple times as long as they are within the age limit and meet the eligibility criteria. There is no lifetime limit on SSB attempts across different entries — but each TES batch has its own notification and shortlist.
