Following the Supreme Court's landmark 2021 judgment, women can now join the National Defence Academy. The Cavalier — Delhi's most trusted NDA coaching institute — has a dedicated track for girl aspirants. Same rigour. Same faculty. Same results.
On 22 September 2021, the Supreme Court of India directed the Union Government to allow women to appear in the NDA exam (Kush Kalra v. Union of India). UPSC included women from NDA I 2022 onwards. Today, daughters of India train at NDA Khadakwasla alongside men — and The Cavalier is here to prepare them.
The NDA written test is identical for boys and girls: Paper I — Mathematics (300 marks, 120 questions) and Paper II — General Ability Test (600 marks, 150 questions). The Cavalier's curriculum covers every chapter with PYQ drills and timed mocks.
The 5-day Service Selection Board is the toughest hurdle. Our SSB module covers Psychological Tests (WAT, TAT, SRT, SD), GTO tasks, Group Discussions and Personal Interview — with special mock sessions for girl aspirants.
Women can opt for the Indian Army, Indian Navy, or Indian Air Force through NDA. For Navy and the Air Force Flying Branch, Physics and Maths in Class 12 are mandatory. For Army, any stream is acceptable.
Women commissioned through NDA are eligible for Permanent Commission (PC) — a full career with pension, equivalent to their male counterparts. It is the most prestigious officer entry in the Indian Armed Forces.
Two papers totalling 900 marks. Both are MCQ-based. Negative marking applies.
Check all conditions before applying. The criteria are straightforward — if you're a girl in or after Class 12, you may be eligible right now.
25 years is not a number — it is the result of doing one thing exceptionally well: producing officers.
Every faculty member at The Cavalier has either cleared SSB, served in uniform, or both. We do not hire YouTubers or social media influencers to teach defence exams.
Our selections span every NDA batch since 2001 — Army, Navy, and Air Force. Names, photos, and batch details are on record. This is verifiable, not marketing.
NDA written preparation and SSB coaching are fully integrated at The Cavalier. You do not need to go elsewhere for SSB — WAT, TAT, GTO, PI are all part of the batch.
We cap batch sizes to ensure every student gets individual feedback. Maths doubt sessions, mock SSBs, and one-on-one PI practice are part of every batch.
Our NDA curriculum is built on UPSC PYQ analysis going back 15 years. Every topic is weighted by frequency and recency — no time wasted on low-yield content.
Centrally located in West Delhi with easy access from all metro lines. Hostel referrals available for outstation students. Regular batches all year round.
Limited seats in every batch. Early enrolment secures your spot and priority counselling.
Year-wise PYQs with answer keys — Maths (Paper I) and GAT (Paper II). Practise with real UPSC questions from 2018 to 2025.
Our faculty has cleared SSB, served in uniform, and trained 500+ officers since 2001. Not one of them has a YouTube channel. Before you choose an NDA coaching institute, ask who is actually teaching you — and whether they have ever worn a uniform.
The Cavalier covers every topic in the NDA syllabus — Mathematics and GAT — with UPSC-aligned depth and PYQ focus.
NDA graduates serve across all three Armed Forces. Women officers commissioned through NDA serve on equal terms — including Permanent Commission.
Corps of Engineers, Signals, Army Service Corps, Army Ordnance Corps, Education Corps, Intelligence Corps and more. Women serve across arms and services with Permanent Commission.
NDA's Air Force option allows women to train as pilots at AFA Hyderabad. India already has women fighter pilots in IAF. NDA is the permanent commission pathway to that dream.
Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics & Mechanical), Logistics, Administration, Accounts, Meteorology and Education branches — all open to women commissioned through NDA.
Executive, Electrical, Engineering and Education branches of the Indian Navy. Naval Academy (NAVAC) training follows NDA before commissioning as a Naval officer.
Everything a girl aspirant and her parents need to know before enrolling.
Yes — absolutely. The Supreme Court of India, in Kush Kalra v. Union of India (September 22, 2021), directed the Union Government to allow women to appear in the NDA examination. UPSC included women from NDA I 2022 onwards. Women have been joining NDA since the 144th Course. This is settled law and practised reality.
For Army: any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts) is acceptable. For Navy and the Air Force Flying Branch: Physics and Mathematics are compulsory in Class 11 and 12. If you're in Class 10 right now and targeting the IAF Flying Branch, choose PCM without hesitation.
No. The written exam — Mathematics (300 marks) and GAT (600 marks) — is identical for all candidates. The SSB interview process is also the same. Physical and medical standards are prescribed separately for women, but the exam you study for is exactly the same. Our classroom coaching covers everything you need.
Class 11 is the ideal time. The NDA Maths paper covers the entire Class 11–12 syllabus and GAT Science covers Class 11–12 Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Starting in Class 11 means you build concepts alongside your boards — saving time and maximising your attempts. You typically get 3–4 NDA attempts within the age window of 16½ to 19½ years.
NDA training is among the most rigorous military programmes in the world — for everyone. Women cadets undergo the same physical training as men. The women who have joined NDA since 2022 have proven it is absolutely achievable. Start physical conditioning early — running, swimming, strength training. The Cavalier includes physical preparation guidance in our mentorship programme.
Our classroom batches are co-ed — the NDA exam is the same for all candidates, so preparation is shared. However, we run dedicated women-only mentorship sessions where girl aspirants speak with female mentors about SSB preparation, life at NDA, physical standards and career choices within the Armed Forces. The curriculum and course fees are exactly the same.
There is no fixed limit — you can appear as long as you are within the age bracket (16½ to 19½ years as on course commencement). Given the narrow window, most candidates get 3–4 attempts across NDA I (April) and NDA II (September). This is why starting early — ideally Class 11 — is strongly advised.
