Cavalier at Sainik Schools Across India
Sainik Schools were founded in 1961 with a single mission — to prepare boys (and now girls) for entry into the National Defence Academy and onward into the officer cadre of the Indian Armed Forces. They are, quite literally, the soil where the seed of an officer is first planted. Since 2001, The Cavalier has been visiting Sainik Schools across India to conduct NDA preparation workshops, SSB Interview orientation sessions, mock GTO camps and motivational talks led by ex-officers — supplementing the schools' own excellent foundation with the focused exam expertise that converts a Sainik School cadet into an NDA recommendation.
Schools We've Visited
Below are some of the Sainik Schools where The Cavalier has conducted sessions over the years. The format adapts to the school's need — sometimes a one-day NDA workshop, sometimes a multi-day mock SSB camp, sometimes a single motivational address by a senior officer.
What We Cover in These Sessions
Every Sainik School visit is tailored to the host school's requirement, but our sessions usually fall into three broad formats:
NDA & CDS Workshops
Subject-by-subject coverage of Maths, English and GAT, with strategy sessions on time management, cut-off targeting and SSB-readiness from senior cadet years.
SSB Orientation & GTO Demos
Live walkthroughs of the 5-day SSB structure, psychological tests and on-ground GTO tasks — Progressive Group Task, Snake Race, Command Task and Half Group Task.
Motivational Talks by Ex-Officers
Sessions led by serving and retired officers covering officer-like qualities, the call of service, life at NDA/IMA/AFA/INA, and the long arc of a defence career.
Why These Sessions Matter
Sainik School cadets begin with an enormous advantage — discipline, structured schedules, English-medium education, sports and physical training built into daily life. But the NDA exam and the SSB Interview test specific things that benefit from focused preparation: subject mastery in Maths and GAT, articulation in interviews, the confidence to lead a group of strangers in a 15-minute GTO task. That's where outside specialists earn their keep — by adding exam-specific edge to an already strong base.
Our trainers are former officers themselves — Army, Navy and Air Force — many with experience as SSB assessors. When they speak to a senior cadet about what an Interviewing Officer actually looks for, the cadet hears it from someone who has sat across that table. That credibility shifts how the message lands.
Format and Logistics
We can run sessions ranging from a 2-hour motivational address to a 5-day residential mock SSB camp. Our team typically travels from Delhi with a small group of two to four trainers (mix of ex-officers and subject experts), bringing along assessment materials, mock test papers, and SSB-style props for outdoor demonstrations where the school can host them on its PT ground.
Costs are modular — a single-day workshop is structured very differently from a residential camp. We're happy to share a tailored proposal once we understand the school's timing, batch size, and goals.
