Final Group Task (FGT) in SSB

Final Group Task is usually the last outdoor group obstacle. It is similar to PGT, but shorter and often used to observe final group behaviour before the GTO series ends.

What Happens in FGT

The group is given an obstacle with helping material and must cross from start to finish while following the colour rules and task restrictions.

How It Differs From PGT

FGT is usually shorter and has fewer stages. Since the group has already worked together, the GTO observes whether candidates improve, adjust and contribute better.

How to Perform

Stay active, listen to good ideas, give practical suggestions, help the group and avoid unnecessary shouting or passive standing.

Cavalier approach: Learn the task, practice under real conditions, get feedback, and improve natural behaviour instead of memorising fixed answers.

Quick Preparation Checklist

  1. Understand the exact format and time limit of the task.
  2. Practice in writing, speaking or group setting depending on the task.
  3. Review whether your response shows responsibility, initiative and cooperation.
  4. Keep your communication simple, direct and truthful.
